I’ve been invited to be a guest speaker on “Ottawa Experts” on February 9th where we will be talking all about weddings and bridal makeup! So, in preparation for my segment here are my predictions for 2015 wedding and bridal looks.
Bridal makeup trends are not like fashion or editorial makeup trends in that, we typically see more natural, flawless and timeless looks. You don’t want to be too edgy on your wedding day and regret it when you look back at your wedding album in 10 years. I always opt for a polished soft look, no matter what the trends are. The same rules can apply for hair.
As a makeup artist it’s my job to work with my client. Does she wear makeup often? Does she require lots of coverage to hide blemishes, scars, dark circles or ache? Does she have a specific look in mind? You get the idea.
Wedding makeup can be very stressful for both the bride and the artist. The stakes are high. So always do a trial a few months before the wedding date (or on a special day like your bachelorette party, engagement photos or shower). It really helps both people communicate their vision better. Check out this article I wrote on the Engaged Life Blog called “Wedding Makeup Artist 101: A polished you“. I share some great advice on wedding makeup and how to work with your makeup artist.
Without further ado, here are my five 2015 brides:
- Undone
- Delicate
- Nostalgia
- Wilde
- Strong
